Visit of the Statue of Our Lady of Fatima
Archbishop John Wilson celebrates the Visit of the Statue of Our Lady of Fatima and the relics of St Jacinta and St Francisco at St George’s Cathedral
The World Apostolate of Fatima England & Wales organised the visit of Our Lady of Fatima and the relics of St Jacinta and St Francisco at St George’s Cathedral on the 17 and 18 May 2025.
The Pilgrim Statue was blessed and crowned by Archbishop John Wilson during the visit.
In his homily, Archbishop John said:
When so many today forget God, our Mother Mary calls us to remember him. At Fatima, she announced the Gospel. She called us to turn away from sin, and to open our hearts to God’s mercy revealed in the Lord Jesus. Mary’s call repeats Christ’s own call: repent and believe in the Good News
The Archbishop added:
Mary leads us to the Lord Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Her deepest desire is not to be adored, but to show us Jesus, who reveals the Father’s love.
