People from across South London and Kent attended St George's Cathedral on Saturday 31 January to be commissioned as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. The day included a talk at Amigo Hall, as well as a service in the Cathedral.
Over 100 people from across South London and Kent were commissioned as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion from 24 parishes, including one Hospital Chaplain and three Headteachers. Those commissioned were from:

- Worcester Park
- St Thomas' Hospital
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion play an important role in parish life, by taking Holy Communion to people in the wider parish community who are housebound due to health, age or disability and distributing Holy Communion during Mass
