175th Anniversary Walk From St George’s Cathedral To St George The Martyr
To mark the 175th Anniversary of the opening of St George's, a walk has been organised on 30th September at 2 pm for anyone who is interested in the history of the Cathedral and the surrounding area of Southwark Bankside.
Beginning at the Cathedral and ending at St George the Martyr in Borough High Street, the walk will last about 90 minutes and will meander through the back streets, where you will learn about Victorian charities, theatres, prisons, riots and hospitals.
The walk will be led by Jenny Rossiter of The Lambeth Tour Guide Association. Donations are welcome for the nominated charity: The Archbishop Romero Trust.
All welcome.
