Saints of Southwark recognises the unsung saints in our parishes who put the words of Christ into action.

Faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead

Every day in our parishes, there are unsung saints who put the words of Christ into action. What they may see as ordinary, is actually extraordinary.

To recognise their work in being true disciples of Christ, the Archdiocese of Southwark will recognise parishes, priests, parishioners or projects for their work in their community. There are many in our parishes who are Saints of Southwark

As Scripture makes clear (Ephesians 2:10), we are created for Good Works and we should walk in the ways the Lord Jesus wants us to.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

To be a true follower of Christ it means putting our faith into action, because “faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead” (James 2:17). This message is what Catholic parishes across the Archdiocese of Southwark are doing every day and this is what we should all look to do in our lives.
