Membership
The membership is composed of four persons
from each Deanery 1
- A Deanery Pastoral council member
- A Priest from the Clergy Conference
- A Religious from the area
- A Lay person
If necessary a person with special expertise or experience in church unity
may be invited to a meeting or as a regular member.
Responsibilities of Members
Members are encouraged to undertake some of the following:
- Encourage public and private daily Prayer for church unity
- Attend Commission meetings and the AGM regularly
- Keep in good contact with the Parish organisations
- Foster spiritual ecumenism
- Promote friendliness and charity between Catholics and other Christians
- Collaborate with other Christians in areas of education, social justice, moral
questions, culture and arts
- Promote with other Christians joint witness to the Christian faith
- Implement the Bishop's decisions on church unity
- Study the documents from the Church on unity
- Promote the distribution of "Together in Christ" and contribute articles and
information
- Foster the training and work of the Parish unity contacts and keep in contact

- Encourage new members to offer themselves for working on the Commission
(1) The deanery members should keep in regular touch with the Dean.
(2) It is a diocesan duty of a Parish priest to nominate
a Parish Unity Contact.
