On Friday, 12th October 2007, the Portuguese Community in London, based at the Italian Church in Brixton Hill, offered Mass and walked in procession in honour of Our Lady of Fatima.
Bishop Patrick was principal concelebrant at the Mass, after which the statue of Our Lady of Fatima was carried in an hour-long procession along Clapham Road, returning to the church by Brixton Road for Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
The celebration was well attended. Each week Father Giandomenico of the Scalabrini Fathers offers two Sunday Masses in Portuguese at the Italian Mission.
