Diocesan Day at Aylesford

Saturday, 27th June 2009

to celebrate the conclusion of
The Year of Saint Paul

EXPLORING THE WRITINGS AND CHARACTER OF SAINT PAUL
at Saint Matthew's, West Norwood

Over two evenings in late June and early July, Dr Anthony Towey of St Mary's College, Twickenham, led an enthusiastic group in exploring the writings and character of Saint Paul.

On the first evening we discovered that Paul was:
P - a preacher
A - an apostle in that he had met the risen Christ
U - had an urgency in proclaiming the risen Christ
L - was loved and called for love to inspire and be present in communities.

On the second evening we read and examined the Letter to the Galatians where we again touched on the passion of Saint Paul and the direct manner of his communication.

Father David O'Connell, Parish Priest, said:
'It was good to see people and priests from nearby and
further afield join as at these evenings.'
