On Saturday, 24th February, Archbishop Kevin and our auxiliary bishops
formally welcomed 212 Catechumens and 273 Candidates who are preparing for
baptism or reception into the Church this Easter. These 485, an increase from
last year, came from 88 parishes. They were 'elected' or chosen by the
Archbishop and now undertake their final Lenten preparation. Please keep them in
your prayers.

The Catholic aid agency CAFOD is planning to relocate its offices from Brixton and build new premises in land adjoining St George’s Cathedral, Southwark in Waterloo by 2008. CAFOD says the move is necessary because its home for the last 25 years on the Stockwell Road is no longer big enough to cope with the charity’s size.

Archbishop Kevin addressed over 250 people who participated in the launch of 'The Joy of God's Plan' in the Westminster Cathedral Hall on Wednesday, 31st January. This resource, a DVD and booklet, has been produced to further our vision and understanding of human life, love and sexuality.

On 25th January, the Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul, members of the Missionary Society of Saint Paul gathered at Our Lady's Church, Deptford, for a talk by Canon James Cronin and Mass in the church. The priests then invited their supporters, including Bishop Patrick Lynch, to supper in the hall.
There are currently seven MSP priests working in the diocese:
at the Cathedral, Bermondsey South, Deptford and Herne Hill. Members are also
working in parishes in Leeds, Bristol and Northampton.
