Southwark's new Director of Vocations
Archbishop Kevin has appointed Father Stephen Langridge as Vocations Director. He will continue to chair the Vocations Promotion Committee. He succeeds Monsignor William Saunders who has been Vocations Director since 2001. Father Stephen, pictured above with seminarians, is Parish Priest of the Church of the Holy Ghost, Balham. The promotion of vocations, undertaken by the Vocations Promotion Committee, especially through the 'seekers' group, has already been of great value to those exploring their vocation to the priesthood.

Southwark Justice and Peace Assembly
Archbishop Kevin joined delegates at the Southwark Justice and Peace Autumn Assembly in the Amigo Hall on Saturday, 21st October. The topics were the impact of the slave trade and the various forms of slavery that exist today.

Wimbledon Scout Group's 75th Anniversary
The Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Faustino Sainz Muņoz, offered Mass for the 9th Wimbledon Scout Group at the Sacred Heart Church, Wimbledon, on Sunday, 15th October, to celebrate the Group's 75th Anniversary.
Colliers Wood celebrates 40 years
Archbishop Kevin joined Father John McGrory, Parish Priest, and parishioners of Saint Joseph's, Colliers Wood, on Sunday, 15th October, to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the establishment of their parish.

Southwark Headteachers' Conference
Headteachers from the majority of Southwark's 177 schools and colleges met in conference at the Ashford International Hotel on 10th and 11th October. They were joined by Archbishop Kevin, the Auxiliary Bishops, the deans and members of the diocesan Commission for Schools and Colleges. The theme of the conference was: Challenges and Changes - From Within and Outside of the Church.

Worcester Park celebrates Parish Centenary
Father Kevan Hayden, Parish Priest, and Canon Cornelius Beausang, Parish Priest from 1961 until 1998, were joined by Archbishop Kevin at the celebration of the Centenary of Saint Matthias Parish on Sunday, 8th October.
Two more new priests for our diocese
Archbishop Kevin ordained Sean O'Connor and Behruz Raf'at to the priesthood at Saint George's Catherdral on Saturday, 7th October.
