Marriage Mass 2025

St George's Cathedral welcomed hundreds of married couples, many celebrating significant anniversaries, on a hot summer's day for the annual Marriage Mass.
Archbishop John Wilson celebrated Mass and in his homily thanked the married couples for their love of each other and their love for Christ:
Dear married couples thank you for your love for each other and for Christ. Thank you for your fidelity and friendship, through thick and thin. Thank you for being signs of hope in a world that doubts whether love can last.
You once stood before an altar and said “yes.” You said, “I do.” You promised to love and honour each other all the days of your life. In a special way today, as he does every day, Christ invites you to say that “yes” again: to renew your love and friendship; to renew your promise and trust; to renew your willingness to help each other to continue to grow in holiness as disciples.
Canon Liam Gallagher, the Episcopal Vicar for Marriage & Family Life concluded the service by thanking the Marriage & Family Life Team for all their hard work supporting married couples and those preparing to be married.
