Mass for Health and Social Care Workers

Health and Social Care Workers renew commitment

Archbishop Kevin offered Mass for Health and Social Care Workers in the Cathedral on Saturday, 3rd November 2007. After the Gospel, the Archbishop invited them to renew their commitment to their vocation.

ACT OF COMMITMENT

Archbishop: Do you commit yourselves, in the name of Christ Jesus, to work together for the common good, to care for the sick and serve the needs of the poor?
All: We do.
Archbishop: Do you commit yourselves to work in a spirit of friendship and co-operation, alongside all who share our values and ideals, to help bring about a more caring and peaceful world?
All: We do.
Archbishop: Do you commit yourselves to strive to

bring faith where there is doubt
bring hope where there is despair
and bring joy where there is sadness?

All: We do.
Archbishop: We ask Almighty God to grant you the gifts of the Holy Spirit that you may receive the courage to conduct your work with wisdom and understanding and in a spirit of love.
We make our prayer through Christ Our Lord.
All: Amen.
