Becoming More Like Christ
2009

Fr John O’Toole, Director of the Christian Education Centre, welcomed Archbishop
Kevin, and the other members of the Archbishop's Council namely Area Bishops
John, Patrick and Paul and the Vicar General Mgr Richard Moth to the Centre in
order to present the Annual Report of activities and initiatives provided in the
Diocese for the period from June 2008 – May 2009. This annual conversation held
by the Archbishop’s Council with the Adult Formation Advisers, Advisers for the
Community Project for Inclusion and the Centre’s Administrator offers an
opportunity to review the past year’s work and to look forward to the future.
The photographs show Archbishop Kevin displaying a copy of the revised Diocesan
Sacramental Guidelines ‘Becoming More Like Christ’, copies of which were
recently sent to all parishes and schools. The new guidelines for the sacraments
of Baptism, Reconciliation, Holy Communion and Confirmation were the initiative
of Archbishop Kevin and were compiled following consultation with parents,
catechists, clergy and teachers. They outline the gift of each of these
sacraments, and describe how home, school and parish can work together in the
preparation, celebration and living out of these sacraments.
Copies of ‘Becoming More Like Christ’ are available at £6.00 directly from the
Christian Education Centre Bookshop which can be contacted on
bookshop@cectootingbec.org.uk.
In collaboration with the Archbishop’s Council and parishes, the Christian
Education Centre seeks to provide opportunities for the ongoing faith formation
of the people of the Diocese.
