Cathedral Music

From the Cathedral website:
St George's Cathedral has a well-established musical tradition, with a diversity of styles represented at the different Masses, ranging from congregational hymns and unison Mass settings at the 10.00 Family Mass, through plainsong and polyphony at the 11.30 Solemn Mass, to occasionally instrumental and contemporary music from across the world at the 18:00 Mass on Sundays.

"The Cathedral Choirs" have served the Cathedral Parishioners, the Archbishop, the diocese and many others well for many years. In the recent past they have supported both televised and radio broadcasts.

In May 2017 the Choirs gathered together over a number of evenings and recorded a CD 'O Sacred Convivium: Music for the Mass'. This fine selection of music includes Mass settings, motets and Gregorian Chant... and at the particular request of Archbishop Peter, The Lord's Prayer using the Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov arrangement.

The YouTube video below will play two extracts from the CD:
Track 01: Plainsong - Venite benedicti Patris mei
Track 14: The Lord's Prayer setting by Nikolai Rimski-Korsakov.

The CD can be ordered from via the "Add to Cart" button on the Cathedral Website.
